The Crinoline Lady Teacup

I am a real fan of the ‘Crinoline Lady’ teacup which started production in the 1930s Art Deco Period. This was a time where the Potteries were more adventurous Stylistic and colourful. This design was actually reminiscent of the 1850s Steel-cage and Petticoats fashion. On the cups she wore a yellow full dress and a bonnet, standing in a pretty garden and covered with a gold chintz print. It was like a work of Art and not just a teacup for tea !
