‘Alice in Wonderland’ Elizabethan Playing Cards Coffee cup

This rather exciting cup highly decorated with Kings & Queens of playing cards was created and produced by Queens and Elizabethan China in the 1970s from a time when we made time to play cards with friends and go to bridge clubs ! The English and American society used work hard and have a social life, so this was a very popular set to buy in order to take out of the cabinet for parties and get togethers.

I liked it very much on first sight but was worried that it was a symbol of gambling ! But no of course it’s just like the costumes of the ‘Alice in wonderland’ Film & the Mad-hatters tea party 🐰 🐇 It’s whimsical and nostalgic and incredibly popular.
This cup combined with scented soya candle makes a unique special present !
